Guitar Hero

When: Thu., Dec. 12, 8 p.m. 2013
Daniel Lippel, who performs tonight at the Museum of Contemporary Art with special guests, oboist Frank Rosenwein and percussionist Luke Rinderknecht, isn't your everyday guitar hero. Called a "modern guitar polymath" — we don't know what it means but it sure sounds cool — the guy performs both as a solo act and with non-classical ensembles. He's quite versatile. He's put out albums of intricate re-workings of pieces by Bach, and he's toured with indie rockers the Mice Parade for the past decade. He's also recently performed in exotic places like Istanbul, Berlin and Reykjavik. Tonight's show starts at 8. Tickets are $10 for students, $15 for MOCA members and seniors, and $20 for non-members.
