Guitar Legend: Dick Dale/The Beyonderers

When: Thu., July 24, 8:30 p.m. 2014
Price: $22
Gotta love a guy who calls himself a guitar legend. Best known as the "King of the Surf Guitar," Dick Dale essentially lives up to the billing. The 77-year-old regularly swings through town to play the Grog Shop, one of his favorite venues in the whole wide world, so you can always expect the old man to kick off the jams. Expect to hear lots of surf instrumentals, including his rendition "Pipeline," the collaboration with the late, great Stevie Ray Vaughan that was nominated for a Grammy. He's also prone to covering "Rumble," the distortion-heavy instrumental by the late Link Wray, arguably the inventor of the power chord. (Niesel)
