As the Chicago-based indie rock act Half Gringa, singer-songwriter Isabel Olive raised eyebrows with last year's Force To Reckon, an album that Vice named one of "22 Essential Albums You May Have Missed in 2020." The beefy guitars in the album's opening track, "1990," suggest Olive's aggressive approach. On ballads such as "Binary Star" and "Afraid of Horses," she proves equally capable of taking things down a notch. Fig and Strobe Light Casualities open tonight's show, which starts at 7 at Mahall's. Tickets cost $8.
