An encore presentation of Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel will be shown in movie theaters nationwide on Thursday, December 22. Richard Jones's wickedly funny production of Humperdinck's beloved opera stars Alice Coote and Christine Schäfer as the siblings lost in the shadowy world of the woods. Tenor Philip Langridge plays the Witch who seeks to devour them. This performance, sung in English, was originally presented in January 2008 as part of the Met's Live in HD series.
