Harmonic Hues at MOCA

When: Wed., April 6 2011

Immerse yourself in a world of contemporary culture this evening as the Museum of Contemporary Art teams up with the Cleveland Institute of Music to present Harmonic Hues, a program of new music and art. Drop by after work and tour the galleries, which include large-scale sculptures from Teresita Fernandez and small-scale assemblages by Lorri Ott. At 6:30, stroll over to the pre-concert reception for light snacks and a "donation" bar offering beer, wine, and soda. At 7 p.m., CIM's New Music Ensemble performs in the gallery; the program features John Cage's Credo in Us and Lucian Berio's Folk Songs, along with solo violin works from composer and ensemble director Keith Fitch. A reception with the musicians follows. It's all free, but reservations are required at 216-421-8671 ext. 70. MOCA is at 8501 Carnegie Ave.; go to mocacleveland.org. — Cicora
