It’s tempting to say that Hot Tuna occupies a fascinating corner of the American rock ‘n’ roll scene, but it’s far more accurate to acknowledge that the band doesn’t just reside in a corner -- their legacy stretches across the whole floor plan. The band has reeled in seemingly dozens of musicians over the decades, but there’s a reason why many will say that “Hot Tuna” is shorthand for “Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady.” The two former Jefferson Airplane anchors have crafted a long life at the wheels of Hot Tuna, which regularly hits the touring circuit in both electric and acoustic fashion. Tonight, Cleveland gets the tighter acoustic version of the outfit -- the songwriter’s night out.
