Restaurant Details

Poised equidistant between Tremont’s trendy hot spots and the dying industrial Flats, the circa-1919 Hotz Café has been party to presidents (FDR), athletes (Rocky Colavito) and the entire cast of The Deer Hunter (including Robert De Niro and Meryl Streep). Today, it’s a dark-and-cozy hangout for both old-time homeowners and slim suburbanites on their way to one of the neighborhood’s upscale restaurants. If pizza and beer are more your speed, though, order a pie from Big Guy's Pizza next door, and spend the evening playing on the antique shuffleboard machine.
