Always Is Always Forever DVD (Van Hellion International)

Integrity's first official DVD release, Always Is Always Forever, compiles live footage filmed between 1988 and 2003, distilling the best of the controversial metalcore pioneers. Clocking in at nearly two hours, the disc comprises 13 single live songs and three extended segments, including an entire 40-minute late-period set. From Dwid's ambitious lyrics to his morbid artwork, the entire eerie package hints at something incomprehensible, disturbing, and intriguing.

The collection showcases Dwid's uncommonly theatrical stage presence, with cameos by other hardcore notables -- Terror frontman Scott Vogel makes an appearance on one of five versions of "Micha: Those Who Fear Tomorrow" (and they're all keepers). The clips are all live, but they're embedded with enough creepy conceptual footage -- grainy frames of serial killers, doomed women, and skeleton horsemen -- to make it all feel like a scene from the underworld. And to dissipate the doom, the disc ends with a hilarious bonus track of scenemates Face Value, lip-synching and pig-piling to "In Contrast of Sin." Now there's a contrast.
