Jay Stevens

"Laughter is a healing medicine,” says comic Shawn D. Stevenson (aka Jay Stevens), a native Clevelander. Originally, Stevens didn’t intend to pursue a career in comedy. But after he had a religious awakening nearly 20 years ago, he felt the need to share his gift with others to help them relieve their stress and possibly heal them with laughter. A clean comic, Stevens performs in both comedy clubs and churches. He performs tonight at 7:30 at the Improv. Performances continue through Sunday. Tickets are $12. (Lisa Hammond)
