The Science Center parties a day early.

You can learn all about the science of cold and then watch Tom Hanks as a strikingly real animated character in The Polar Express at today’s New Year’s Eve Eve celebration at the Great Lakes Science Center. In addition to seeing the 2004 CGI movie as it was meant to be seen -- on the humongous Omnimax screen -- all of the museum exhibits will be on display, with hands-on, season-specific activities set up throughout the center. Afterward, dig into a buffet dinner. Plus, children have an opportunity to make their own noisemakers, which they can test out on Monday, while their parents are nursing nasty hangovers in bed.
