Ladies First

Workshop promotes peace, life without men.

At today's Women's Circles: Creativity in Community program, author Jean Shinoda Bolen will talk about how evil guys are and how it's only a matter of time before they blow us all to hell. "There are some good men out there," she clarifies. Still, in her latest book, Urgent Message From Mother: Gather the Women, Save the World, Bolen makes it pretty clear that hope for the future lies in the soft, manicured hands of people with a matching set of chromosomes. "It's up to us, if there are going to be changes," she says.

Today's daylong workshop is designed to arm women with the tips and tools they need to rescue the planet. "Things really need to change," says Bolen. "We need to support each other." If all else fails, says Bolen, a respected Jungian analyst from California, she hopes at least to instill a sense of passion in folks — no matter what sex. "I'm interested in inspiring, empowering, and nurturing the dreams of people," she says. "When you help other people, you help yourself."
