Ladies, remember how your man always made fun of the goofy, swoony look you’d get when you listened to records by singers of seductive soul ballads like Cleveland’s late Gerald Levert? Tonight, leave the old ball and chain at home to contemplate the impending football season. Grab your girlfriends, and head to Playhouse Square for Ladies Night Out Part II. The State Theatre stage will be positively dripping with sonic romance when a quintet of R&B acts known for their appeal to women take the stage. Among them: Levert protégés, Cleveland’s own Rude Boys, who had two No. 1 R&B hits in the early ’90s with “Written All Over Your Face” and “Are You Lonely for Me.” Also on the bill are ’90s/early 2000s soul favorites Ginuwine, Next, and Jagged Edge, along with young gun Tank, who has written and produced for artists ranging from Ginuwine to Pitbull to the late songstress Aaliyah. Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are $47.50 and $57.50 by phone, online, or at the Playhouse Square box office.
