Limp Bizkit

Any band with the word “limp” in its name deserves whatever vitriol comes its way. And nu-metal holdovers Limp Bizkit have certainly received their share of disdain from critics and fans alike. It wasn’t always that way. Propelled by the catchy, if insipid cover of George Michael’s “Faith,” the band’s 1997 debut, Three Dollar Bill Y’all$, became a platinum best-seller. But the group quickly wore out its welcome a singer Fred Durst repeatedly put his foot in his month and a payola scandal tarnished the band’s rep. And yet, judging by the 3.4 million likes the band’s Facebook site has received, this reunion of sorts featuring the original line-up (including madcap guitarist Wes Borland) seems to have generated some interest. The band recently played big festivals in Europe and has a new studio album in the works as well. The first single, “Ready to Go,” pairs Durst with the equally exorable Lil’ Wayne as the two trade misogynist verses about drinking Russian vodka and “getting fucked up.” Nice. (Jeff Niesel)
