Little Big Town/Sam Hunt & Chris Stapleton

When: Sat., July 12, 8 p.m. 2014
Price: $27.50-$47.50
With producer Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Patty Griffin) at the helm, country superstars Little Big Town decided to alter their approach in the studio for their last album, 2012’s Tornado. Instead of spending months fine-tuning their songs, they churned the thing out in a mere seven days. As a result, the album feels like a live recording right from the freewheeling opening tune “Pavement Ends,” a rocking number that features terrific harmony vocals and noisy guitars. In keeping with the party hearty attitude reflected in today’s country music, the band includes a good quotient of songs about letting the good times roll. The first single “Pontoon” celebrates motor boating in the summer. That attitude carries over to “Day Drinking,” the single from their forthcoming album, Painkiller, which is due out later this year.
