SSince her 1963 debut, Loretta Lynn Sings, country music star Loretta Lynn has remained a prominent figure. Releasing more than 50 albums over the course of her career, Lynn proves her musical prowess time and time again. Besides the countless Grammys and other awards, including a Presidential Medal of Freedom, she remains on the forefront of straightforward, solid songwriting. Her last record, 2004’s Van Lear Rose, was a stunning collaboration with the White Stripes/ Raconteurs singer-guitarist Jack White. And while it’s been a hot minute since she’s released a record, the 82-year-old Coal Miner’s Daughter still gets out there to put on a hell of a show as she’ll undoubtedly do tonight, a celebration of 50 years as a recording and touring artist.
