Minneapolis singer-songwriter Ben Connelly finds hope in even the most dismal subjects. His latest album, Over You, is filled with death, divorce, and loneliness. Yet, despite a photo of Connelly looking all gloomy underneath an umbrella on the CD's back cover, the songs — most performed with just guitar and drums — look for a rainbow on the horizon. Connelly's sprightly tunes bounce along, contradicting his morose expression.
