Lu Bian Ye Can (Kaili Blues)

When: Fri., July 8 2016
Lu Bian Ye Can (Kaili Blues) marks young Chinese poet and filmmaker Gan Bi’s 2015 debut. It centers on a doctor who makes a journey to retrieve the son of his irresponsible half-brother. Along the way, though, the rules and parameters of reality begin to shift, and the film enters a trippy dreamlike state. Screenings take place at 7 tonight and at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Tickets are $10, $7 for Cinematheque members. (Shively)
