Lynyrd Skynyrd/Bad Company

When: Tue., July 22, 7:30 p.m. 2014
Price: $35-$99.50
Lynyrd Skynyrd has experienced its share of tragedy. Frontman, Ronnie Van Zant and other members of the Southern rock band died in a 1977 plane crash. After a ten-year hiatus, a group of guys remotely connected to the original group (guitarist Gary Rossington is the only founding member still in the band) reunited with Van Zant’s younger brother Johnny taking over vocals. They’ve been touring and recording as Lynyrd Skynyrd ever since — their latest album, 2012's Last of a Dyin' Breed features the usual quotient of sneering vocals and gritty guitars. But it’s telling that when Lynyrd Skynyrd was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, no post-crash members were included. (Niesel)
