Written by Aristophanes, Lysistrata meets with the women of Greece in order to plan the end the Peloponnesian war. What is her brilliant tactic? Lysistrata wants them all to refuse sex with their husbands until a treaty for peace has been signed. Combining startlingly relevant topics with over the top sexual buffoonery, Lysistrata is a plea for peace wrapped in comic layers of the wiles and the equality of womanhood.
