Los Angeles' Silent Civilian roars through its debut album, Rebirth of the Temple, like a band determined to get somewhere fast. The group bulldozes through everything: structure, melody, harmony. Our favorite outburst shows up right before a searing guitar solo, when singer Jonny Santos (who used to front the brutally hard Spineshank) screams, "One, two — rip your face off!" That pretty much says it all. Silent Civilian takes part in the One Nation Undivided tour, which comes to town tonight with Bleed the Sky, the O.C. sextet that pays very close attention to structure, melody, and harmony on its debut, Paradigm in Entropy. Still, songs like "Killtank" are exactly the brutal assault you'd expect.
