Missing Person

When: Thu., Aug. 28 2014
Panic sets in when a young Mexican-American boy with Asperger’s syndrome goes missing in New York City as Hurricane Sandy approaches. That’s the premise of Sam Fleischner’s indie drama Stand Clear of the Closing Doors, a film that captures the chaos (and cultural extremes) of the Big Apple. While its story could pass as fact, the film’s impressionist approach makes it clear it’s fiction. The movie makes its local premiere at 7:30 tonight at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. It shows again at 8:35 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
