Mojo Risin
35 years ago Sunday, Doors frontman Jim Morrison briefly ended his ongoing bender, sobered up long enough to take a frank look at his overblown poetry, and was so embarrassed that he faked his own death and moved to South America, hiding under the semianagrammatic alias Mojo Risin. To commemorate the Lizard King's disappearance, Mojo Risin (the Cleveland-based tribute band, not the mortified singer) will perform an authentic Doors set. And in case you haven't heard "Break On Through" on WNCX or WONE in the last 10 minutes, don't forget: When they weren't riding the snake, the band rocked like hell. And if anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of the stone bust that was at Morrison's (alleged) Paris gravesite, please feel free to contact the group to arrange an anonymous return.
