My Golden Days

When: Sat., July 2 2016
The sister film to his 1996 breakthrough My Sex Life…Or How I Got into an Argument, My Golden Days is the latest masterpiece from French director Arnaud Desplechin. Serving as both a sequel and a prequel to the first film, it details three defining periods in protagonist Paul’s early life — his childhood, a trip to the USSR, and his college years. These flashbacks serve to further characterize and explain his current position, and serve as an opportunity for a bit of self-reflection among the audience, too. The film screens at 7:05 tonight and at 3:45 on Sunday at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Tickets are $10, $7 for Cinematheque members, those with a Cleveland Institute of Art or Cleveland State University I.D., and those age 25 and under. (Shively)
