The meat goes on in Berea, as the National Rib Cook-off returns to the Cuyahoga County fairgrounds for the Memorial Day weekend. Not to be confused with the downtown competition, Berea’s 14th annual bone fest is a smaller, more manageable affair. Still, you’ll find nearly a dozen pit masters on hand — including last year’s award-winning Old Carolina BBQ and Smokin’ Joe’s Hog Wild Barbecue. There’s plenty for the kids to do too, including a rock climbing wall, a mechanical bull, and inflatable rides. Lots of live musical entertainment too. The tariff is just $5 for adults, and free for kids 12 and younger; hours are noon to 9 p.m. Find out more on the website.
