Neil Young & Crazy Horse/Los Lobos/Infantree

When: Mon., Oct. 8, 7:30 p.m. 2012
Price: $47.50-$103
There’s no figuring out singer-guitarist Neil Young. At one minute, the classic rocker is gung-ho to be back in the fold with Crosby, Stills & Nash. And at the next, he’s doing the solo thing. Now, he’s reconvened Crazy Horse, the backing band that debuted on his 1969 effort Everybody Knows This is Nowhere and played on the 1979 classic Rust Never Sleeps. Young and Crazy Horse returned earlier this year with Americana, their first studio effort in almost a decade. And later this month, they’ll issue Psychedelic Pill, an album that, as its title implies, features extended garage rock jams (the opening track “Driftin’ Back,” which finds Young singing “don’t want my MP3,” stretches out for over 27 minutes). While his most recent albums are rather uneven, the curmudgeonly Young, who’s not known as much of a crowd pleaser, has been revisiting classics such as “Powderfinger,” “The Needle and the Damage Done” and “Cinnamon Girl” on the tour.
