Nickel Creek members are only in their mid-30s, so how they hell are they are on the road celebrating their 30th anniversary as a band? Well, it turns out that mandolin player Chris Thile started the group when he was 9. Or so he says. Regardless, the neo-bluegrass band is one of the best on the circuit and Thile is a real virtuoso. Singer/fiddle player Sara Watkins is no slouch either. In 2000, the band teamed up with singer Alison Krauss for its acclaimed self-titled third album and rode the wave of the bluegrass revival to the tune of platinum album sales and Grammy nominations. Expect to hear several tracks from it at tonight's show. (Niesel)
