No Matter What/Brent Kirby

When: Sat., March 30, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $5
Just over a decade ago, No Matter What — a group of music students from Brush High School — was one of the more popular cover bands here in town and had some 100 songs (ranging from Journey to Pat Benatar) at its disposal. But then singer Jen Preisler met local singer-songwriter Mike Farley and the two married (and Preisler changed her name to Farley) and shipped off to Nashville and then Madison, Wisc. That was the end of No Matter What. Tonight’s reunion show at House of Blues Cambridge Room represents the band’s first gig together in over ten years. It’s all for a good cause, too. Proceeds will go to Autism Speaks, a non-profit that’s dear to Farley’s heart since her 5-year-old has been diagnosed with autism. And it’s also an important charity for band member Tom Tonkli whose son was recently diagnosed with Aspergers, another developmental disorder on the Autism Spectrum. (Jeff Niesel)
