Known around these parts for their trippy-ass live show (and for frontman Kevin Barnes’ Rocky River roots), Of Montreal still delivers the goods on a regular basis. The band is undeniably at home in their current iteration, which has delivered several albums with slick production values. Recent tunes like “Georgie’s Lament,” “Obsidian Currents” and “She Ain’t Speakin’ Now” suggest the band's musical diversity. Visually, they may be even more dynamic. Band members fill out the stage with all manner of balloons, projections and props. Audience interaction is a constant. Nevertheless, while we’re on the subject, any spin through Of Montreal’s catalog should include The Early Four Track Recordings, which delightfully shows the roots of the current sound. Oh, and the album includes probably the greatest series of song titles ever. Check it out. (Sandy)
