Old School Sirens
This year, the third annual Sweetheart Showcase Burlesque Show will be devoted to paying homage to the old school sirens of the silver screen. Performers will imitate the glamour of movie stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Veronica Lake, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren. Toronto’s Bianca Boom Boom will be on hand as will Columbus, Ohio-based Cherie Blondell, a Monroe look alike. Cleveland's Bella Sin promises to put on a “hip-shaking” performance. The UK’s Abby Downton serves as host. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. at the Beachland Ballroom. Tickets are $15 in advance and $17 at the door. (Niesel)
