Poetry in Motion

Guide to Kulchur, Gordon Square’s bookstore-cum-salon-cum-typewriter refurbishment center, hosts another edition of its Uncanny Voices reading series this evening. Poetry duo Theresa Gottl and Steve Brightman are both dynamic readers and if you haven’t seen them perform at Mahall’s or other local haunts, get out tonight to Detroit-Shoreway to see for yourself why poetry can be just as vibrant and personal as live theater or lap dances. Brightman evidently refuses to wait for inspiration so he "stockpiles poems like ammunition or canned goods.” Gottl has performed at poetry slams all over the country. Reading starts at 7:30 and is free. (Allard)
