Prosperity Social Club Ten-Year Anniversary

When: Sat., Oct. 17 2015
The original family of Dempsey's Oasis, Richard and Teresa Demboski, will be on hand as Prosperity Social Club, which occupies the former Dempsey’s space, celebrates its ten-year anniversary. “Ten years is something to celebrate in the restaurant business for sure, but doesn’t seem like a very long time when you remember that Stan Dembowski opened Dempsey’s Oasis here in 1938,” says Prosperity owner Bonnie Flinner in press release. A popular place that appealed to steel mill employees and ethnic residents, the business stayed in the Dembowksi family for more than six decades.Oral histories will be recorded by Cleveland State University's Center for Public History + Digital Humanities to be archived in the Cleveland Regional Oral History Collection. Complimentary pastry and soft drinks will be served, and the kitchen and bar will be open for brunch service. The event takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. (Niesel)
