Q104 Holiday Show starring Adam Lambert & Echosmith Club Concert

When: Mon., Dec. 7, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $39.50-$69.50
That Adam Lambert isn't yet a pop superstar on par with Gaga, Beyoncé and Bieber is criminal. It's certainly not from lack of effort or talent: The American Idol Season 8 runner-up's three solo albums — including this year's The Original High — are full of smart, seductive synthpop, glamrock and electro-disco tunes that sound like nothing else on the radio today. That being said, The Original High might be Lambert's most deliberately modern record yet, thanks to the production and writing influence on pop masterminds Max Martin and Shellback, and songs such as the hip-hop-tinged "Rumors," on which Tove Lo guests. Live, Lambert commands the stage effortlessly and fluidly, thanks to his extensive musical theater and stage experience, and his tenure touring as lead vocalist for the equally flashy rock band Queen. Be sure to show up early to catch up-and-coming pop-rock band Echosmith, whose "Cool Kids" remains a supreme ear worm. (Annie Zaleski)
