Race for the Cure

When: Sun., July 28, 8:30 a.m. 2013
Race for the Cure is one of the best awareness campaigns of the decade. Hundreds and thousands of people running and walking through the streets decked out in pink bring a lot of attention to this important issue and the registration fees go a long way to preventative care and informing people how they can help themselves. Today, the streets of Akron will be filled with those pink shirts once more. This is Komen Northeast Ohio’s 20th anniversary and, in celebration, they have started a fundraising campaign to get you to find 20 people to donate $20 to the cure. This would be a quick way to raise $400 towards finding a cure for breast cancer and helping women become aware of the dangers in hopes of catching tumors early on. (William Hoffman)
