On Sunday, August 7, we will gather at 7:30 pm at the Rockefeller Lagoon,
Rev. M.L. King Drive, near E. 105 th St., to observe the 77 th Anniversary of
the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, August 6 and 9, 1945.
We will commemorate these tragedies and reaffirm our commitment to a
world free of nuclear weapons, with speakers, music, and poetry. We’ll
conclude by launching Japanese candle lanterns on the lagoon at sunset at
8:40 pm.
