Reunited (And It Feels So Good)

Prog-folk trio comes back to the stage for an encore.

McKendree Spring reunites at the Beachland tonight, nearly two years from the day of their last Cleveland concert of '70s prog-folk. And it marks only the second time in 32 years that the trio has come together onstage — a far cry from their heyday three decades ago, which included seven albums and just as many world tours. There's founding guitarist Fran McKendree, who got religion after a solo career and is now living in western North Carolina with his wife. Violinist Michael "Doc" Dreyfuss has put together a rap sheet that includes degrees in physics and medicine. And lead guitarist Marty Slutsky has turned to producing televised presidential debates and won Emmys for his work in putting the Olympic Games on the small screen. McKendree Spring plays at 8:30 tonight at the Beachland Ballroom, 15711 Waterloo Road. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. Call 216-383-1124 or visit www.beachlandballroom.com.
