Ridin' High

When: Thu., July 24 2014
Harvard's Sensory Ethnography Lab, the studio that produced compelling documentaries such as Sweetgrass and Leviathan, is behind Manakamana, a film about Nepalese pilgrims who ride a cable to the top of a mountain where they visit a Hindu temple. The two-hour film consists of a series of 10-minute takes as it documents the variety of passengers who ride to the temple in the sky. The movie makes its Cleveland premiere tonight at 6:15 and shows again tomorrow at 9:10 p.m. at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
