Rock School

Lesson #4: Enjoy it while it lasts.

The only thing harder for bands than becoming million-selling stars is watching the popularity fade. Eddie Money knows this harsh reality, and he offers some simple advice.

"When you have your time in the sun, really appreciate it and absorb it, and have a great time," he says.

Money's career-fade was sudden. He had a strong five-album run (including the hits "Shakin'" and "Baby Hold On") before nose-diving in the early '90s. Three albums since '94 have failed to revive his fortunes.

Money isn't bitter about being viewed as a classic rocker and playing clubs, casinos, and fairs instead of arenas.

"It's really nice to know that people still come to the shows," he says. "It's a nice way to make a living."
