Satan & Adam Staff Pick

When: Fri., July 12 2019
Sterling "Mr. Satan" Magee, an elderly, Mississippi-born black man and one-man band, and Adam Gussow, a young, white, Jewish Ivy Leaguer and harmonica player, become unlikely friends after meeting on a Harlem street corner in 1986. The two become a musical sensation and even perform in front of 3,000 people at Central Park. Satan & Adam, a documentary film directed by V. Scott Balcerek, chronicles the evolution of their friendship across 20 years. The film screens tonight at 7 at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Tickets cost $10, or $7 for CMA members. (Niesel)
