Scroll Lotta Love

Dead Sea scholar comes to town to talk history.

We really dig the Dead Sea Scrolls on display at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage. Tonight, Adolfo Roitman will explain more about them in a talk titled "The Significance of the Dead Sea Scrolls for Judaism and Christianity." Roitman, a senior lecturer at the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem, has written several books on the subject. Tonight's program looks at the history of the scrolls, their discovery in the 20th century, and how they tie into the development of rabbinical Judaism and early Christianity. Sure, you can get a sense of all this at the museum's terrific exhibit, but it takes a real expert to put it into perspective.
