Nonprofits answer to a board charged with actual / fiduciary responsibility. The City treats the Market like an old toy its tired of playing with and apparently no one can force them to give a fuck, thats the difference.
I hope they actually get some good cidermakers in and not just the horrible mass market crap they currently have listed on their page. Seriously? Redd's Apple Ale? You'd find a better selection at Simone's in Lakewood. Gross.
I was so excited about this opening I went the first day. Bad move. They've somehow managed to out-Sushi Rock Sushi Rock in the overpriced white boy sushi department. Seriously, unless you count BBQ eel sauce, sushi should not be SWEET. I'd rather drive across town and drop the same $100 at Shuhei and get something worth the money.
"So this place has "food that calls to mind that found in far hipper neighborhoods"...gee, Doug, thanks for the snark. Why didn't you just call the corner "Little Dublin" or "The Green Mile" and be done with it?"
This. Precisely this. I love my neighborhood, and it has much more to offer than chain restaurants, thanks. Cuisine du Cambodge? Der Braumeister? Thai Elephant? Phat Daddy's Kitchen? No, guess it's just too easy to knock on our "uncoolness" because we have a nice stretch of Irish bars along with the other businesses on one of Cleveland's busiest traffic corridors.
