She's a Little Runaway

When: Thu., Jan. 9 2014
After a “mad summer,” Irish teen runaway Taryn (Deragh Campbell) unexpectedly shows up at the home of her aunt and uncle but doesn’t yet realize that the couple (Ned Oldham and Kim Taylor) is in the middle of a separation. Awkwardness ensues. That’s the premise of writer-director Matthew Porterfield’s new film, I Used to Be Darker, an indie flick that has the look and feel of Gus Van Sant’s early movies. The film screens tonight at 6:45 and Saturday night at 9:20 at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
