The annual Sundance Film Festival provides up-and-coming filmmakers with a chance to show off their work and maybe ink a distribution deal. That certainly happened this year as the original short film Whiplash was snapped up by a major studio and turned into a feature-length flick. You can see the original short as well as seven other films from the festival as part of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival Shorts Films that screens at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque at 6:55. The program repeats tomorrow at 4:15. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
