Silverstein/Like Moths to Flames/Secrets/Glass Cloud/Issues

After 7 full lengths, 3 EPs, a live album, and a handful of 7-inch singles in the past 13 years, Silverstein has become a required serving in the post-hardcore diet. The Ontario fivesome utilizes its tried-and-true approach of tight, controlled tempos, while Shane Told dishes out ultra-clean, high vocals accented by his blood-curdling screams. The final product is a mix of constructive chaos wrapped around relatable lyrics. Fans who were disappointed that the band steered ever-so-slightly away from the harder screams on 2011’s Rescue can rest assured that This is How the Wind Shifts, released earlier this month, shows Told’s pipes in all their glory. And anyone who prefers the softer side of Silverstein still understands where the band is coming from when it delivers the acoustic versions. (Nikki Hunt)
