Skeleton Crew

When: Thu., Oct. 24 2013
Since its launch in 2009, the bi-annual Skull and Skeleton exhibition at the Gallery at Lakeland has nearly quadrupled in size and has blossomed into one of Cleveland's most spirited and anticipated fall art openings. This year's Skull and Skeleton in Art: Folk Art to Pop Culture incorporates some 300 unique pieces. Think everything from classic oil and acrylic paintings to cutting-edge mixed media and digital works, as well as sculptures, glass and wood creations, and jewelry. While the actual exhibition runs from Sept. 23 to Nov. 24, the gallery will throw a formal artist reception (and costume party!) tonight from 6 to 9 at the Boneyard Market. Guests are welcome to dress in their Halloween (or Day of the Dead) finest and enjoy light refreshments and a presentation by noted speaker Hector Castellanos-Lara. This event is free.
