Slumming It

When: Fri., Aug. 29 2014
Tonight the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque shows one of 2013’s most highly rated films (100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes), a Moroccan drama called Horses of God about a group of young boys growing up in the slums of Casablanca. It shows the devastating origins of their involvement in a terrorist attack in 2003 in which 45 people were killed. The film, which has won numerous awards at international film festivals, is considered one of the finest in a genre that explores and questions the roots of terrorism in the Arab world. It screens tonight at 9:10 and tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are $9. (Allard)
