Lakeland Community College kicks off its 42nd annual Jazz Festival today at the Dr. Wayne L. Rodehorst Performing Arts Center. The fest starts at 9 a.m. with performances by high-school jazz ensembles. The Cleveland State University Jazz Combo opens the evening’s show at 7:15 p.m. The Dan White Sextet featuring pianist Theron Brown follows them. This band is sure to bust out a mix of jazz, soul, rock, R&B and hip-hop. Tomorrow and Sunday will showcase performances from big-band ensembles and Grammy Award-winning vocalist Carmen Lundy. This festival is a must-attend event for jazz lovers. Ticket prices vary for each show and range from $10 to $25. (Gonzalez)
