Toronto’s Do Make Say Think plays post-rock instrumental music that encompasses a bunch of different music genres that have one thing in common: really funky time signatures. Rock, jazz, psychedelic, and electronic sounds drift in and out of the band’s new album, You, You’re a History in the Rust. Other musicians jam with the group onstage and in the studio from time to time, lending extra noise whenever it’s needed. But the core quartet has played together for a dozen years now, and it’s gotten quite adept at managing all those tricky rhythms and feedback blasts. As usual with this sorta thing, live shows typically bring out the best in these guys.
