Speaker Series

When: Tue., Sept. 9 2014
Town Hall of Cleveland is the nation’s longest consecutive-running speaker series: Over the past 83 years it has curated the appearances of such prominent figures as Winston Churchill, Henry Fonda and many other world leaders and artists. Tonight at Severance Hall, renowned author and womens’ rights activist Gloria Steinem opens the 2014-15 season. A founder and spokeswoman for the women’s liberation movement, Steinem is co-founder of Women’s Media Center which works to equalize gender bias in the media. Tonight’s event is a fundraiser for Case Western Reserve University’s Flora Stone Mather Center for Women. The lecture begins at 5 p.m. and tickets are $65. (Gonzalez)
