Elapsed time: We called at 10 a.m. to request 11:30 delivery. Our order arrived, hot and fresh, at 11:35.
Notes: Tom Tom offers a vast assortment of soups, well-appointed salads, hot and cold sandwiches, and thick fruit smoothies. We just wish the website included an easily printable menu.

Elapsed time: An order called in at 11:23 a.m. arrived, hot and fresh, 27 minutes later.
Notes: The ample, Asian-style noodle and rice bowls offer a tasty option for vegetarians and, at around $5 each, are very reasonably priced. But we really missed having access to a website and online menu.

Elapsed time: We ordered at 11:35 a.m.; it arrived -- hot -- in 35 minutes.
Notes: While no one will accuse them of being health food, our cheese-and-butter-laden "white" veggie pizza and a small calzone stuffed with ricotta, marinara, and provolone made for a flavorful, filling chow-down.

Dave's Cosmic Subs (1918 East Sixth Street, 216-861-4199, delivers through DeliverMeFood.com)

Delivery charge: $3.95, with a $2 surcharge for orders less than $15
Elapsed time: DeliverMeFood.com policy calls for delivery within an hour. While that goal was met, at 55 minutes this proved to be the day's slowest service.
Notes: Among Dave's more than two dozen subs, our fave is the Original: pepperoni, Genoa salami, prosciutto, peppers, tomatoes, herbs, and garlic, all smothered in Dave's Cosmic sauce. Far out, man.
