1001 Comics You Must Read Before You Die

There are several guides like this available, but only this 1,000-page monster dips into the mid-1800s for historical perspective. And unlike many of those other, more snobby books, this one makes room for more mainstream comics like Garfield (yes, the lasagne-loving cat) among the Watchmen and Dark Knights. A panel of international experts guarantee this isn't just a capes-and-tights party.

Cult Classics

(Warner Archive)

Warner Archive recently resurrected a bunch of cult classics for its manufacturing-on-demand line (available at The best: The Giant Behemoth, a 1959 movie about a giant dinosaur on the loose in London; Trog, a 1970 movie about a thawed-out caveman with Joan Crawford; and Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, which is pretty self-explanatory.

Pink Floyd Reissues

All 14 Pink Floyd albums – from 1967's freak-out The Piper at the Gates of Dawn through 1994's cop-out The Division Bell – have been remastered, and they've never sounded better. All those cool things the band buried in its songs? You can actually hear them now. Plus, The Dark Side of the Moon gets a special two-disc “Experience” version, complete with a live performance of the album from 1974.

(Bethesda Softworks)

There are lots of games set in post-apocalyptic landscapes (I use the phrase so much, my word processor just finished this sentence for me). And most of them arm you with some big-ass weapons as you fight for survival. So Rage (for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC) doesn't break any new ground. But it's still a hell of a shooter that delivers plenty of blood and guts along the way.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Complete Season Three

All 22 episodes from Cartoon Network's hit CGI show are gathered on this set, which looks mind-blowingly awesome on Blu-ray. The show delved deeper into Star Wars' expanded universe during the third season, introducing characters you never even knew existed. Extras include a galaxy's worth of deleted and extended scenes that expand that universe even more.
